Technical Specifications

Dish power, router model, Ethernet adapter/handoff, cable route, and UPS protection are to be verified.

Architecture

The Starlink path feeds one OPNsense WAN path. The exact OPNsense interface mapping must be confirmed and labeled.

On July 1, 2026, 192.168.100.1 was identified from pve as a Starlink endpoint. The user confirmed Starlink was moved to bridge mode and its 192.168.100.0/24 use conflicted with KH3's old internal .100 subnet. Treat 192.168.100.0/24 as Starlink-side/deprecated, not a current internal LAN.

Configuration

Management method, service account owner, billing contact, bridge/bypass mode, and support details belong in the approved credential and asset systems.

Operational Procedures

  • Check physical power and cable seating.
  • Check Starlink application status and obstruction data.
  • Check pfSense gateway health and failover state.
  • Record outages with provider timestamps.

Troubleshooting

If the Starlink service is healthy but traffic fails, test the upstream gateway from OPNsense and verify the gateway group has failed over correctly.
